Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Manage Website Hosting/Server Infrastructure: Set up a web host, configure access for users, establish news and mail servers, and seamlessly connect databases and other back-end components. Other responsibilities include familiarizing clients with the website and making sure it functions smoothly.
  2. Monitor Performance: Constantly evaluation of website performance by checking metrics such as loading time and memory consumption etc. Further duties include assessing user feedback, effectiveness, and traffic, exploring marketing techniques such as newsletters and SEO to draw more users into the website.
  3. Provide Technical Support: To start off with, constant responsibilities include website maintenance after setup, being proactive when addressing user concerns and resolving bugs. Additional duties are integration and implementation of upgrades, improvements and other advancements to both the front-end as well as the back-end of the websites.
  4. Create and Update Web Pages: Updating webpages to add content or tweaking the layout/functionality as and when required. Web admins must be proficient with PHP, WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JQuery, CodeIgnitor, Cake PHP, Laravel.
  5. Evaluate Structure and Content: Setting basic standards for both graphics and content, checking for quality before uploading components and contributing to the development of a website’s structure.

Web Admin Assistant Skills and Qualifications

Web admins must have strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills, with a working knowledge of both web development and system administration. A drive for constant learning is helpful, since this role deals with various facets of the web, from infrastructure to content.

  1. Web Development: Web admins must be proficient in web programming languages in order to update or create web pages. At minimum, they should be able to convert designs into code through front-end development.
  2. Infrastructure Expertise: Since the job revolves around maintaining websites, successful web admins are knowledgeable about security, hosting, network optimization, databases, and other infrastructure-related factors that affect a website’s performance.
  3. Testing: Web admins test and debug website features, with the goal of making them error-free. Beyond programming tests, they also assess the website’s usability, design, content, and popularity.
  4. Dependability: Because even a small problem can be detrimental to a website, web admins react quickly to bugs and performance lags. They even guard against future risks by preparing backups and disaster recovery plans.
  5. Customer Support: When customers report issues, web admins should be proactive, working to fix the problem while communicating updates. It’s important that they can explain technical concepts in everyday language.

Tools of the Trade

Candidates for web admins are expected to be extremely proficient with the following tools, which they use on a regular basis:

  1. Web programming languages (such as Javascript, JQuery, PHP, Bootstrap, CodeIgnitor, etc.)
  2. Content management systems (such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.)
  3. Web analytic tools (such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, Open Web Analytics, etc.)
  4. Web hosting services (such as SiteGround, Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.)
  5. Cloud infrastructure tools (such as Google Cloud Console, Google Webmaster Tools, etc.)

Minimum Experience:

We expect a minimum of 2 years hands on experience from the candidates for this position.

We are looking to hire a skilled WordPress Developer to design and implement attractive and functional websites for our clients. As a full-fledged WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration and security updates. To ensure success as a WordPress Developer, you should have in-depth knowledge of front-end programming languages, a good eye for aesthetics, and strong content management skills. Ultimately, a top-class WordPress Developer can create attractive, user-friendly websites that perfectly meet the design and functionality specifications of the client.

Responsibilities

  1. Designing and building the website front-end.
  2. Designing and implementing new features and functionality.
  3. Establishing and guiding the website architecture.
  4. Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
  5. Managing WordPress themes and plugins.
  6. Conducting website performance tests.
  7. Troubleshooting content issues.
  8. Monitoring the performance of the live website.
  9. Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
  10. Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
  11. Meeting with clients to discuss website design and function.
  12. Conducting WordPress training with the client.

Requirements

  1. Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer.
  2. Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
  3. Proficiency in developing/implementing any 3 rd party themes and plugins.
  4. Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
  5. Experience in building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
  6. Experience in designing and developing responsive design websites.
  7. Experience in working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
  8. Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
  9. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages.
  10. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
  11. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial.
  12. Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
  13. Good communication skills.
  14. Strong knowledge in working with SEO content.
